Outlook — Distributed UK AI Teams Rooted in Bristol

Three developments will determine whether Bristol's 2026 cluster formation is durable rather than a temporary consequence of Graphcore dispersion and post-pandemic remote norms.

What it needs is the institutional legibility that tells a 2026 AI engineer — or a London hiring manager scanning for where to open a node — that Bristol is a named place on the UK AI map, not an asterisk beside Cambridge.
